This Jar Cucumber Salad is cool, crunchy, and creamy all at once, a refreshing mix of cucumbers, onions, and spiced yogurt that comes together in minutes. Just toss everything in a jar, shake it up, and you’ve got a beautiful, healthy side that’s perfect for hot days or quick meals.

Ingredients

  • 2 cucumbers (thinly sliced)
  • 1 onion (thinly sliced)
  • 4 tablespoon yogurt
  • ½ tablespoon red chilli powder
  • ¼ tablespoon tbsp black pepper powder
  • ¼ tablespoon tbsp cumin seeds powder
  • ½ tablespoon tbsp chilli flakes
  • 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds
  • ½ tablespoon tbsp nigella seeds (kalonji)
  • fresh coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • Thinly slice the cucumbers and onion. Finely chop the fresh coriander leaves.
  • Take a clean glass or plastic jar with a tight lid.
  • Add cucumber slices, onion slices, and chopped coriander leaves to the jar.
  • Add curd along with red chilli powder, black pepper, cumin powder, chilli flakes, salt, sesame seeds, and nigella seeds.
  • Close the jar tightly and shake it for 2–3 minutes until all the spices and curd coat the cucumber and onion evenly.
  • Open the jar and transfer the salad to a serving plate.

Notes

  • Use fresh curd: Thick, chilled curd works best to coat the veggies evenly without making the salad watery.
  • Make it meal-ready: Add boiled chickpeas or grilled paneer cubes to make it a light, protein-packed meal.
  • Try it cold: Pop the jar in the fridge for 15 minutes before serving for an extra-refreshing crunch.
