A cool, salty sattu drink made with roasted gram flour, onion, green chilli, lemon, and chaat masala. Ready in 5 minutes with no cooking.

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons chana sattu (roasted gram flour)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
  • 1 green chilli (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon chaat masala
  • 2 glasses cold water (about 2 cups or 500 ml)
  • Salt (to taste)

Instructions

  • Add the sattu, chopped onion, green chilli, chaat masala, and salt to a large bowl. Mix well.
  • Pour in the water a little at a time. Whisk or stir with a spoon until there are no lumps.
  • Add the lemon juice and mix again. The drink should be easy to sip, not too thick and not too watery.
  • Pour into 2 glasses and serve fresh.

Notes

  • Serve fresh. The sattu settles and turns grainy if it sits.
  • Stir again just before drinking.
  • Add a splash of water for a thinner drink.
  • Use less green chilli for a milder taste.
