This cheesy egg bread toast is the easiest breakfast you will ever make. One pan, 10 minutes, and just a few simple ingredients. Crispy on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside. Perfect for busy mornings when you want something quick but really satisfying.
- 1 slice of bread
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
- 1 cube butter
- 1 slice of cheese
- salt to taste
Crack the eggs into a bowl, add salt, and beat well until smooth.
Cut the bread and cheese slice into halves.
Heat a non-stick pan on medium flame and add butter. Let it melt completely. Pour the beaten eggs into the pan and spread evenly.
Dip the half-cut bread pieces properly into the egg so that both sides are well coated. Place them on top of the egg in the pan. Let it cook for about 1 minute without flipping.
Fold the extra cooked egg from the sides over the bread.
Add tomato ketchup and place the cheese slice on top. Fold the bread in half like a sandwich.
Cook for about 1 minute on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Use a non-stick pan for best results. It stops the egg from sticking and makes flipping easier.
- Thin sliced bread works best here. It soaks up the egg well and cooks evenly on both sides.
- Do not rush the cooking. Keep the flame on medium so the outside turns golden without burning.
- You can swap tomato ketchup with chili sauce if you like a little spice.
- Serve hot for the best taste. The cheese gets firm as it cools, so eat it fresh off the pan.
