This quick canned tuna stir fry recipe is perfect when you want something fast, flavorful, and filling without much effort. Made with simple pantry ingredients, it comes together in just 15 minutes and works great for an easy lunch or light dinner.
- 1 tuna can 130g (approx 5 ounces)
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 onion medium size
- 1 tomato small size
- ½ tablespoon ginger garlic paste
- ½ tablespoon chiliflex
- ½ tablespoon pepper
- salt to taste
Preparation
Open the tuna can and drain it well. Since canned tuna is packed in liquid, give it a quick rinse if needed, then set it aside. Chop the onion and tomato into small, bite-size pieces so they cook evenly and quickly.
Cooking
Heat the oil in a frying pan or skillet over medium to high heat.
Add the chopped onion and saute until it turns soft and translucent.
Add the ginger-garlic paste and saute for about 2 minutes, stirring so it does not stick or burn.
Add the chopped tomato and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring gently until it softens and blends into the base.
Add the canned tuna along with chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir gently on medium heat so the tuna stays chunky and does not break apart.
Cook until the tuna looks lightly golden and well coated with the seasoning, then turn off the heat. If you like, garnish with fresh cilantro, parsley, or basil before serving.
- Drain the tuna well so the stir fry does not turn watery.
- This recipe cooks fast, so keep all ingredients ready before starting.
- Stir gently after adding tuna to keep the chunks intact.
- You can adjust chili flakes and pepper based on your heat preference.
- Fresh herbs like cilantro, parsley, or basil add a nice finishing touch.
