These banana fritters are soft on the inside and lightly crispy on the outside. Made with simple pantry ingredients, they are an easy and comforting snack or dessert for any time of day.

Ingredients

  • 4 bananas
  • plain flour
  • cup milk
  • 3 pinches salt
  • 2 pinches baking powder
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 egg
  • oil for frying
  • powdered sugar for garnishing

Instructions

  • Peel the bananas and cut them into halves or medium-sized pieces. Set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine plain flour, milk, salt, baking powder, and sugar. Mix until smooth and free of lumps.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg lightly, then add it to the batter and mix until fully combined. Heat oil in a frying pan over low to medium heat.
  • Dip each banana piece into the batter, coating it evenly with the help of a spoon.
  • Carefully place the coated bananas into the hot oil.
  • Fry on low heat for 3 to 4 minutes, then flip and fry the other side for another 3 to 4 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  • Remove from the oil and place on a serving plate. Garnish with powdered sugar and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm bananas for best texture.
  • Serve fresh and warm for the best taste.
  • Adjust batter thickness with a little milk if needed.
