Peel the bananas and cut them into halves or medium-sized pieces. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine plain flour, milk, salt, baking powder, and sugar. Mix until smooth and free of lumps.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg lightly, then add it to the batter and mix until fully combined. Heat oil in a frying pan over low to medium heat.
Dip each banana piece into the batter, coating it evenly with the help of a spoon.
Carefully place the coated bananas into the hot oil.
Fry on low heat for 3 to 4 minutes, then flip and fry the other side for another 3 to 4 minutes until golden and cooked through.
Remove from the oil and place on a serving plate. Garnish with powdered sugar and serve hot.
