Crispy boneless chicken pieces made in the air fryer with simple pantry spices. Ready in under 35 minutes of active time, plus a 4 hour marinate for maximum flavor.

Ingredients

  • 200 g 8 oz boneless chicken, cut into pieces
  • ¼ teaspoon oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon mixed herbs
  • teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • teaspoon ginger powder

Instructions 

  • Prep the chicken: Wash and pat dry the boneless chicken, then cut it into small, bite-sized pieces.
  • Mix the marinade: In a bowl, combine chicken with oregano, mixed herbs, black pepper, salt, lemon juice, and oil. Mix well to coat evenly.
  • Marinate: Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours.
  • Preheat: Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (360°F) for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Arrange: Spray the basket with oil and place chicken pieces in a single layer.
  • Air fry: Cook at 180°C (360°F) for 20 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway and spraying more oil.
  • Serve: Once golden and crispy, remove and serve hot with your favorite dip.

Notes

  • Add 1/4 tablespoon raw papaya powder for extra tender chicken.
  • Don’t overcrowd the basket, or the chicken won’t crisp up properly.
  • Always preheat the air fryer before adding the chicken.
  • Flip the chicken halfway through for even color on both sides.
  • Start checking a few minutes early since every air fryer cooks a little differently.
